WATER SPORTS FOR ALL THE FAMILY

Ellerton Park is one of the North's leading water sports centres with a clean, freshwater 60 acre lake surrounded by open countryside. We are located close to the A1 between Richmond and Northallerton and just off the B6271.

Open water swimming - Adults only

• All swimmers are required to swim with a "Swim Buddy".
• A brightly coloured tow float is compulsoryfor all swimmers. Swim wetsuits are recommended but not compulsory.
• Adult swim bay only. Children only permitted if Swim Club/Tri Club members and under recognised coaching. All children require swim wetsuits, tow floats and brightly coloured hats.
• Ideal for triathlon and open water swimmers. Group training and competitions welcomed by arrangement. Training by qualified instructors available, see below for details
• No casual swimming - This is a deep lake and suitable only for competent open water swimmers and those under training / supervision

Water sports for all the family

For a great day out with the family why not come to Ellerton Park and spend the day on the water with your own canoe, kayak or paddle board. Our large car park makes it easy to launch your craft into the fresh, clear water.

If you have your own equipment including life jackets / buoyancy aids which are compulsory for all watersports users then you can just turn up and pay on arrival in cash. Should you need to hire any equipment including life jackets/buoyancy aids these must be BOOKED IN ADVANCE OF YOUR VISIT, online with SUP Active Yorkshire, www.supactiveyorkshire.com. Please do not arrive without prior booking as we cannot guarantee availability and you may not be permitted entry.

• The 60 acre lake allows for experienced paddlers and beginners. Tuition for beginners is available by prior booking; please see details of providers below.
• All water users of the lake must wear a life jacket or buoyancy aid - no exceptions will be made.
• A limited number of buoyancy aids are available to hire. These must be booked online in advance with SUP Active Yorkshire, www.supactiveyorkshire.com. Please do not just turn up without pre-booking them as you cannot go on the water without, and may not be permitted entry if none are available.
• Juniors 16yrs and under are not permitted on or in the water without being accompanied by a competent responsible adult at all times. The responsible adult must be on the water with the junior. (Watching from the side/bank is not acceptable) You will be asked to sign a disclaimer on entry to the park.
• We welcome schools, clubs and organisations to the lake
• NO BBQs or FIRES
• NO alcohol to be brought in or consumed on site
• NO DOGS PERMITTED IN WATER SPORTS CAR PARK OR ON THE LAKE
